Benjamin M. Fairchild graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Southern College (FSC) with a Bachelors of Science degree in accounting in 2001. He immediately enrolled in graduate course work at FSC. He completed his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in 2003 and was awarded Most Outstanding MBA student. Upon MBA graduation, Ben began preparation to sit for the Uniform Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Ben passed all four parts of the exam on the first attempt. He was recognized by the state of Florida for achieving the fifth highest score in the state on the November 2003 exam. Ben began working with Charles H. Brinton, Sr. in 2000 as an intern while attending FSC.
Ben joined Downtown Lakeland Kiwanis in August 2007. He has worked on various service projects and is currently working is way through the leadership ranks after serving as club treasurer for several years. He has also served as the Assistant Treasurer at All Saints Episcopal Church and completed the officer ranks of the Polk County Chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Professional Accountants (FICPA). He is an avid sports fan and enjoys following baseball, basketball and football.
Ben married his high school sweetheart, Everis (Kline) Fairchild in May 2002. They welcomed their first child, Ryan in July 2008. The Fairchilds were blessed again in June 2010 when Lindsey was born. The Fairchild family worships at All Saints Episcopal Church.
Charles H. Brinton, Jr. (Chuck) graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelors of science degree in economics in December 2002. While at UF he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity and also worked for the University Athletic Association. In January 2003 Chuck began working part time at Brinton & Associates, P.A. while attending the University of South Florida to complete the additional education required to sit for the certified public accountant exam. Chuck became certified in November 2004 and began working full time in January 2005.
Chuck currently serves as Chair for the Polk County chapter of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is a member of the Lakeland South Rotary Club. In his spare time Chuck enjoys playing golf, barbequing, and watching Gator football.
Chuck was born and raised in Lakeland. He first met his wife, Mindy, in middle school and the two began dating while in college (she was at Florida State). They were married in October of 2005. Their daughter, Avery, was born in May 2008, and son Carter was born in February 2011.
A. Mia West graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Southern College (FSC) in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science degree in business administration. During her years at FSC, she was active in leadership positions on campus, including her sorority, Zeta Tau Alpha. She married Don West, a local music educator, shortly after graduation.
She worked as a staffing coordinator for a staffing company until their first child, Evan, was born in 2000. For the next several years, she remained home with Evan and his sisters, Emma and Abby. In 2010 she began working part time as office manager for a retail sheet music company. She has been a part of the Brinton Fairchild team for 5 years and thoroughly enjoys getting to know our clients.
Mia volunteers at her childrenâs schools and currently serves on the School Advisory Council of Spessard L. Holland Elementary. She is very involved in her church, First United Methodist Church of Lakeland, including teaching 4th grade Sunday School. She is thankful for time to spend with family and friends and enjoys attending music concerts, especially classical and jazz.
Katie Scott graduated from Southeastern University (SEU) with a Bachelors of Science degree in accounting and finance in 2017. At SEU, she was the president of the accounting club and a member of Circle K International. She graduated summa cum laude as a University Honors Scholar.
Katie began working part-time at Brinton Fairchild in 2015 to gain exposure to public accounting alongside her studies. After earning her degree, she returned to work at the firm full-time.
Katie met her husband, Michael, on their first day at SEU. They began dating in December of 2013 and were married after graduation in May 2017. Currently, their life revolves around their puppy - a Shih Tzu mix named Flash. Katie enjoys reading books of all genres and exploring new creative hobbies in her free time. She is happy to make Lakeland her new home, though she loves to visit her mom, dad, and younger brother in her home town of Beverly Hills, Florida.
Susan W. Wuitschick graduated from Stetson University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Minor in Music and from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in December 1998. During her years at Stetson she served as a Resident Advisor for three years as well as holding other leadership positions, including with her sorority, Alpha Chi Omega. After graduation she moved to Lakeland to accept a position with Barnett Bank. In July of 1990 she began working for GE Client Business Services (Lockheed Martin) and continued her career with them for 14 years. During her time there she held various roles including benefits specialist, financial analyst, participant in the Financial Services Training Program, accounting specialist, and Team Leader from May 1997 to March 2004. In 2006 she was employed by a Lakeland CPA firm as a staff accountant to assist in seasonal tax preparation. Beginning in October 2007 she accepted the role of part time treasurer for College Heights United Methodist Church and continues in this position. She joined the Brinton Fairchild team in March 2016.
Susan married Scott Wuitschick in October 1995. They welcomed their first child, Ethan in October 2000. In March 2004 she transitioned to stay at home mom to care for their son and then 1 year old daughter Elizabeth. In January 2007 they welcomed their third child, Emma. She enjoys volunteering for her childrenâs schools, spending time with family and friends, and attending her church, First United Methodist Church of Lakeland, where she regularly sings with the contemporary worship praise band. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Greater Lakeland.
